Harmony Senior Living Foundation exists to improve the quality of life of older adults through culturally responsive housing initiatives, meaningful community partnerships, and programs that promote pride, independence, wellness, and belonging.

Principle I
People Before Programs

Programs exist to serve people. Before starting anything new, we ask whether it will improve someone's daily life.

A building gives people somewhere to live. What makes it a home is knowing the people down the hall.

We listen first and look at what the evidence shows, and we change course when it tells us to.

We will expand only when our community relationships, finances, and organizational capacity can support it.

A working board of five — officers accountable for finance and records, and directors bringing public-sector governance and clinical expertise to Harmony's first initiative.

David founded Harmony on a straightforward premise: that growing old should not mean giving up your language, your food, or the people who understand you. He chairs the Board and serves as chief executive, drawing on three decades in human resources and organizational governance.

Peter spent decades in senior leadership at the Federal Aviation Administration. He knows how large public institutions are actually run, and he holds Harmony to that standard.

Ryan is a CPA, and as Treasurer he watches the money — financial reporting, budgets, and how every charitable dollar is accounted for.

Tiffany keeps the record straight: Board minutes, governance files, and the correspondence that keeps partners in the loop. Her background is in commercial operations and organizational development.

A pharmacist by training with operational leadership experience, Thong assesses the health side of the work — which clinical partnerships hold up, and what residents will actually need.

Harmony will begin with one carefully planned home. We will learn from that experience before deciding how and when to expand.

Phase I — Complete
Organizational Formation

Governance established, officers elected, legal formation completed, pilot housing model developed, and IRS 501(c)(3) determination received.

Phase II — Active Now
Demonstration & Partnership

Building community partnerships, pursuing grants, recruiting volunteers, and advancing the pilot housing initiative from concept to reality.

Phase III — Future
Responsible Growth

Any second home will depend on what the first one teaches us, and on Harmony having the funding and people to run it well.

What the Pilot Will Explore

  • A single-family shared-home model designed around the daily rhythms of Vietnamese and Asian American seniors — meals, language, cultural celebration, and community.
  • How a thoughtfully designed environment can reduce isolation while preserving individual independence and privacy.
  • Partnerships with healthcare providers to bring wellness education, medication safety, and preventive health programs directly into the home.
  • Volunteers will build lasting relationships with residents and become a familiar part of life in the home.
  • Children, grandchildren, and extended family are welcome in the home, and the design accounts for their regular visits.
  • Honest evaluation: what works, what doesn't, and what should guide every home that follows.
